Locksmith work is not glamorous in the way people imagine. You show up to a house at 7 in the morning because someone is locked out before their shift. You rekey a small business because the owner just let an employee go and can’t sleep until the locks are changed. You fit a Medeco deadbolt on a commercial door and know, without needing anyone to tell you, that you did it right. That’s the job. And if that kind of work – work that matters to a real person on a real day – sounds like somewhere you want to be, keep reading.
At Ridley Locksmith and Security, we run on The Garrison Standard. That means written prices before any work starts, background-checked technicians on every call, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise on every job. We hold ourselves to that standard because it’s how good work gets done. If you want to be part of a crew that takes that seriously, we want to hear from you.
Who We’re Looking For
- Residential Locksmith Technician – Someone who is calm under pressure, reads a situation quickly, and treats a homeowner’s front door with the same care they’d want on their own.
- Commercial Locksmith Technician – A problem-solver who understands that a business’s security is not just a lock on a door, and who can work through complex access-control and hardware installs without cutting corners.
- Apprentice Technician – A beginner who is mechanically inclined, asks questions, and is willing to do the unglamorous part of learning a trade properly before they work alone.
- High-Security Hardware Installer – Someone already trained or eager to train on hardware lines like Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, Abloy, and Sargent – brands where precision is the whole job.
- Dispatcher / Service Coordinator – A clear communicator who keeps jobs moving, technicians informed, and customers calm, even when two things happen at once.
- Customer Service Representative – The person who answers a call at 2 in the morning and makes a stressed homeowner feel like help is genuinely on the way, because it is.
What We Offer
Real Training and a Path Forward
We don’t hand you a van and wish you luck. Apprentices work alongside experienced technicians on real calls – residential lockouts, commercial rekeying, high-security installs – until the work is second nature. There is a clear path from apprentice to lead technician, and we prefer to promote from within because someone who learned the Ridley way already knows what the standard looks like.
Work You Can Stand Behind
The 365-Day Done Right Promise is not a marketing line – it’s a written guarantee on every job, and technicians who work here know that every call they run carries that commitment. That keeps the quality honest. When the guarantee is your name on the paperwork, you do the job right the first time. Most of our people say that changes how the work feels.
A National Brand, a Local Crew
Ridley is part of Garrison Partners, which means the tools, the training, the systems, and the standard are backed by a company that has been doing this since 2007. But each location is independently owned and operated. You work with a local crew, for a local owner, serving neighbors in your own area. The national infrastructure is there when you need it; the local team is who you’ll actually work with every day.
Steady, Year-Round Demand
People get locked out in January and they get locked out in August. Businesses change employees and change their locks. Families move and want to know only their key works in their front door. Locksmith work does not slow down the way project-based trades do. If you show up and do the job right, the work is there.
No Experience? Read This.
A background in automotive work, appliance repair, HVAC installation, cabinetry, or any field where you fit parts together and take pride in the result – that transfers more than you’d think. The mechanical intuition is real and it matters.
What we teach: how locks work, how to rekey them, how to read hardware, how to handle a customer at a bad moment, and how to run a job from the time you pull up to the time you close the van door. The first months are structured. You ride along, you watch, you ask questions, and when you’re ready, you work alongside a lead technician on live calls before you run anything solo.
We’re not looking for someone who already knows everything. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, careful, and willing to learn the trade the right way. If that’s you, the experience part is something we can work on together.
