Training & Ongoing Support

You do not need to know a Kwikset from a Mul-T-Lock before you sign a franchise agreement with Ridley Locksmith & Security. You need to be disciplined, willing to learn, and comfortable with the idea that a written price goes in front of a customer before a single tool comes off the van. We teach the rest. Since 2007, the Garrison Partners family has built its reputation on the trades: real work, done by the book, backed in writing. The training system we put in front of every new owner exists so that by the time your first customer calls, you already know how we answer the phone, how we price the job, and how we leave the site squared away.

Initial Training

Week one starts with operations, not with a pinning kit. You learn how a Ridley location runs: the dispatch rhythm, the live-answer phone standard, the way we write a work order so the price on it matches the invoice exactly. Then we move into the trade itself, because you cannot run a locksmith business on a playbook alone. You need to understand what a rekey actually is. A rekey means changing the internal pins inside the cylinder so the old key stops working, without replacing the hardware. In plain English: we swap the guts, not the lock. You learn standard residential hardware first: Schlage, Kwikset, Yale, Baldwin. Then you learn the high-security lines: Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, Abloy, Sargent. You will bend over a bench and do the work with your hands, because reading about a shear line is not the same as feeling one. The software training covers the job management tools we use for scheduling, invoicing, and the written-guarantee paperwork that follows every repair. Hiring and marketing come last in the sequence, because you need to know what the work looks like before you can hire for it or sell it.

Launch Support

Opening the doors is where most new owners feel the weight of the thing, and it is where Ridley stays closest. We help you set up your local marketing the way The Garrison Standard expects it: honest service-area coverage, pricing pages that give real dollar ranges, and a phone line that a live person answers, not a machine. The lead engine is built before your first van rolls. We show you how calls flow, how jobs get scheduled inside the promised window, and how a no-hassle upfront price gets quoted on the phone before dispatch. Your first jobs get extra attention from our team. If you are standing at a door at 7:40 p.m. wondering whether you quoted a rekey correctly, you call us. We walk you through it. The goal of launch support is simple: your first ten customers get the same Ridley experience as a location that has been open for a decade.

Ongoing Support

  • Field coaching: Regular check-ins on job quality, pricing discipline, and how well your technicians are holding to The Garrison Code. We watch for drift and correct it early.
  • Marketing support: Local campaign guidance, website upkeep, and brand materials that keep your location visible in your service area without making promises you can’t keep.
  • Vendor relationships: Access to the hardware lines we train on, including Schlage, Kwikset, Yale, Baldwin, Medeco, Mul-T-Lock, Abloy, and Sargent, at terms negotiated by the family.
  • Technology and software: Continued access to the dispatch, scheduling, and invoicing systems you learned in initial training, plus updates as the tools evolve.
  • National brand campaigns: Garrison Partners runs brand-level work that lifts every location. Your shop benefits from the family name without having to build it alone.
  • Guarantee infrastructure: The 365-Day Done Right Promise is supported at the brand level. If a repair fails inside the year, we stand behind the written guarantee. You are never left answering for the brand promise out of your own pocket.
